About this event:
Friday 5pm – 10pm
Saturday from 8am – 5pm
In the first of the Connect+Love+Create Workshop series, we will be exploring the realms of creativity, inner wisdom, nature, movement, community and spiritual connection. You are invited to take a break from the outside pressures of everyday life to understand on a deeper level how to tap into your your inherent creative flow. This workshop series is for beginners and experienced artists alike. We only ask that you come with an open heart.
We will kick off the workshop Friday, December 7th with an opening circle, communal feast, dance, canvas preparation and community fire pit. During our Elemental Dance of Creation, we allow ourselves to express our creativity through free flowing movements geared toward connection with the elements of earth, fire, water and air. During this time, we will also be preparing our canvases to paint the next day. If you are unable to join Friday night, don’t worry! There will be time Saturday to do this as well.
Saturday morning, we will enjoy a light breakfast, followed by a light yoga flow. Then we will be headed out to explore The Light Center’s 90+ acres during our Spirit Walk. During the walk, we will be connecting with nature and spirit while collecting materials that we may use in our paintings. We will then head back inside to begin our painting process! Facilitated by artists Kelly Dowman, Anna Perez and Danielle Morningstar, we will be guided through a intuitive painting process focused on connecting our creativity and inner wisdom while honoring the natural elements. Our creative flow will be amplified by musical accompaniment of singing bowls, drumming, harp and didgeridoo. Lunch will also be provided during this time. We will be wrapping up our workshop with a closing circle, allowing time to reflect and share our experiences.
The investment for this workshop is $50.
