About Us
The Light Center is a nonprofit located in Baldwin City, Kansas featuring many interwoven projects focusing on inspiring people to grow. It serves as an Alternative Unity Ministry providing a sacred space for learning and renewal about growing healthier foods, growing spiritually and growing closer as a human family. We act as an educational permaculture based farm and rustic retreat and learning center as well as headquarters for LoveLight, our volunteer outreach program in South Africa.

For over 28 years, The Light Center has been trailblazing new paths for living in spiritual harmony.
Our sacred sanctuary in the woods is a cozy space that has all the comforts of home and the solitude and beauty of nature.
We host family festivals, retreats, activities, communal potlucks and movie screenings, Healing Touch and meditation, or just the stillness of a summer morning.
Our property also includes a hand built sweat lodge, a couple of Yurts, private camping grounds, organic, sustainable gardens with a large hoop house.
Along the trails you will find abundant wildlife, a medicine wheel, fairy gardens with small carved figures and tiny fairy houses. Then there is the star gazing…need I say more?
An All Volunteer Organization
We manage at a grassroots level while keeping our overhead amazingly low. We rely upon grants, volunteer efforts and donations to help our projects aimed at supporting both our local community and the homeland of us all, Africa. The Light Center and LoveLight thank you for your spiritual and financial support.
